In 1806, Governor of Madras, William Bentick, wrote a note seeking his first wish to have an expansive expedition to harvest as many numbers of souls, from Malabar to Madras to ensure the Presidency is acceded to the Holy Kingdom religiously. There were riots that took place in Thirunelveli and Thuthukudi which were fermented by the White Imperialistic Christian Missionaries and the same wrecked havoc and devastated the livelihood of various families. But the most outrageously awful scandal, were the Anderson school issue, the Justice Thomas of Chingelput Sadr Adalat suspending Court for Proselytising natives, Justice Malcolm Lewin of Thirunelveli acquitting, releasing the members of the Thirunelveli Viboothi Society being overturned by Governor Marquis of Tweeddadale and the most powerful of them all introducing bible as a mandatory curriculum in Government and Aided schools.
On 07.10.1846, Spearheaded by Gazulu Lakshmi Narslu Chetty, a mass protest took place outside Patchiappa Charities, with the permission of the Sheriff of Madras, 12,000 people in attendance, wherein a memorial was signed and presented to the Governor seeking redressal to the grievances for the Atrocities committed by the White Imperialistic British Missionaries, along with the high ranking British government officials, who were complicit in establishing a well coordinated and oiled ecosystem, which unfortunately still exists today, to be religiously neutral.
